The Brown University Library, in support of the University's educational and research mission, is the local repository for and the principal gateway to current information and the scholarly record. As such, it is simultaneously collection, connection, and classroom, primarily for the current and future students and faculty of the University, while also serving other colleagues in the University community and our regional, national, and global communities of learning and scholarship.

The Virginia Baldwin Orwig Music Library houses the general music collection on campus: music books, scores, periodicals, sound recordings, and video recordings. The collection supports the curriculum of the Music Department and provides material for general use by the Brown community.

Thank you for your interest in The Providence Federation of Musicians, Local 198-457 of the American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada. The AFM is the largest organization in the world dedicated to representing the interests of professional musicians.

The Rhode Island Folklife Collection consists of a wide variety of materials related to the activities of the Rhode Island Folklife Project. The collection contains print and manuscript materials, including correspondence, administrative and financial records, fieldnotes, promotional materials, news clippings, exhibit materials, and publications. It also contains a rich assortment of audiovisual materials, including 35mm slides and negatives, prints, contact sheets, open-reel audio, cassette tapes, mini discs, CDs, and DVDs. Taken together, these records give insight into the ways in which the Rhode Island Folklife Project carried out its mission to document, preserve, interpret, and foster understanding of Rhode Island’s traditional cultural expressions.

Founded in 1915, the Rhode Island Music Education Association is a federated state association of the NAfME. We are a non-profit organization that plays a significant role in representing all phases of music education in the schools, colleges, and universities within the state of Rhode Island.

The Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame (RIMHOF) is a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating, honoring, and preserving the legacy of Rhode Island musicians, educators and industry professional who have made significant contributions to the national and Rhode Island music scene.
