Student Employment: General Information

 

All students may apply; those with a Federal Work Study award will get first consideration. 

 

Summer 2025 hiring is complete - applications for fall 2025 will be reviewed in July.

We hire students to work in a few areas of library service. Here's a brief rundown. If you are interested, please continue on and fill out an application!

WHAT?

  • The Library employs Student Assistants for a variety of part-time positions during the academic year and summer.
  • Hours are flexible.
  • More information about the different library departments is in the application.

WHY?

All positions will help you with your academic coursework and build your resume by exposing you to new information and teaching you transferrable skills.

WHEN?

  • We aim to have most of our schedule in place before the semester begins, though some hiring is done during the first month of the semester. 
  • We receive a LOT of applications and can not reply to every one. You will be contacted for an interview if positions are available and your skills and schedule meet our needs.
  • If you are not contacted this time around, please feel free to reapply next semester.

HOW TO APPLY

  • PREPARE! You will need a copy of the following to upload when filling out this application:
    • resume and cover letter (required) See below for a video on cover letters.
    • class schedule in "week view" (required)
    • accepted Work Study award (if applicable)
  • To apply, proceed to Handshake and search for Adams Library. If there is no current posting, it means we have filled all positions for the current hiring cycle.
