Changes effecting departmental statistics:
Reference Desk hours reduced FY 2016
FY 2015 - student assistant staff had significant gaps
Spring semester 2014 through Summer 2015 - instruction faculty vacancy
Spring semester 2015 - Reference faculty vacancy
FY 2007 - FY 2012 - Sundays (8 hours) and Monday evenings covered by adjunct faculty beyond the four members of the Reference & Research Support Dept. This allowed full coverage of the public desk with no gaps in the busiest parts of the regular teaching week.

Interpretive notes:
Raw data in LibAnswers with no category specified [Label = No Data] are counted as Reference, not General/Technical, questions.
FY 2007 through FY 2011 - RefDesk work by faculty and student assistants are combined within Reference Questions and General/Technical+ Microform/Mechanical categories
FY 2012 to present - RefDesk work now displayed separately for Reference faculty and Student assistants. Student Assistants do not perform "Virtual" work at the public desk so this category is labelled Not Applicable.
FY 2016 - until Fall 2015, effort expended on questions was measured by duration in minutes. For FY 2016, six "Levels of Effort" were defined, more clearly indicating the type of assistance provided and the complexity of the interaction. Levels above 3 may be considered one-on-one information literacy interactions.
