Write an argumentative essay. Take a position on your chosen topic and provide a strong argument for your position.
You can develop your essay based on, but not limited to, one of the following prompts:
- Why organizations need to be virtuous
- Why values/principles matter for an organization
- Why business is not just about profits
- To whom should a business be responsible?
- Work and wellbeing/happiness
- The dignity of work/labor
- Business lobbying
- The ethics of advertising/marketing
- Beneficial and harmful use of technology
- The responsibilities of business for the planet earth
- A place for religion-based love in the workplace
- Why socially responsible investing
- A current event such as the opioid crisis
- How to humanize the business world
To write the essay, you will need to develop a strong central argument/thesis statement and build your essay around the central argument. You will also need to show why your position is superior to a counter argument that is held by some people. A minimum of four reputable sources is expected to be used in support of your essay. The quality of the essay depends on the appropriateness of the topic, significance and/or originality of the claim, depth and logic of thinking, quality and quantity of evidence, appropriateness in addressing a counter argument, and clear and cohesive organization, as well as style.
The essay should be double-spaced, about four-to-six pages long, in Times New Roman, 12-point font.
