Print, Copy, Scan & Public Computers

Public Desktops

The Adams Library offers dozens of desktop computers for public use. Most are immediately visible upon entering the main entrance on the third floor, and others are on the fourth floor in the curriculum resource center.

The public desktops are equipped with Microsoft Office Suite software, various media players, and multiple internet browsers.

Please do not play audio through the computers' speakers. We recommend that you use headphones if audio is necessary.

Saving Files on Public Computers

The public desktops and laptops erase all saved content upon restarting, so it is recommended that you save personal files onto USB drives or onto a cloud-based storage system such as your personal RIC account's OneDrive, which is accessible through Microsoft Office 365.

Printing from the Desktops

Black and White Printing is $0.05 per page and Color Printing is $0.25 per page in the library.  You can print in black and white or in color from all of the public computers.  To print in black and white, select the printer HP LaserJet 600 Main Library. To print in color, select the printer HP Color LaserJet 400 Adams Library.

Cards for printing are the same copy cards that are used for photocopying.  They can be purchased at the card dispenser in the photocopy area.  The card dispenser can also be used to add copy money onto your student ID.

Public Laptops

On top of desktop computers, the Adams Library has 21 laptops with the same software as the desktops. They can be borrowed for in-building use for 4-hour periods. More information on the lending process can be found here.

Please note that although these laptops can print, they can only print in black and white, which uses the printer HP LaserJet 600 Main Library.
