Evaluating Data Resources

This page contains a small group of resources for finding polling data. To select data resources, the librarian applied the following criteria:

The data must pertain to topics in Political Science.
The data must be collected by a credible agency.
The data must be as current as possible.
If available, the methodology for collecting the data must be evaluated.

Local Data

The Rhode Island Survey Initiative
Opinion polling focused on the Ocean State and led by the University of Rhode Island’s Harrington School for Communication and Media; the Social Science Institute for Research, Education, and Policy; and the Department of Political Science.

National and International Data Resources

American National Election Studies (ANES)
To serve the research needs of social scientists, teachers, students, policy makers and journalists, the ANES produces high quality data from its own surveys on voting, public opinion, and political participation.
