  • Develop research questions for your simulated research study
  • Give ideas for finding secondary research to support your questions and findings.

Assignment

dinner theatre imageDevelop your own simulated research study for a restaurant of your choice in this area.  Decide on what questions the owner would want researched to go into questionnaires.  The questionnaires will be focused on many attributes of restaurants. Part of the simulation (and eventual questionnaire) will be to determine if there is a demand for a dinner theatre also

 

Examples

  • pricing, menu/food, drinks, layout, ambiance, music, location, parking, etc.  

 

Consider the possibility of the owner developing a dinner theatre of sorts to accompany the restaurant .  This could be a play or a murder mystery that involves the customers, etc. etc.  You can concoct your own simulated data once you develop your questionnaires.  Part of the simulation (and eventual questionnaire) will be to determine if there is a demand for a dinner theatre also.   The teams will develop their final questionnaires from all this information and they are pretending that they are doing this research for a restaurant of their choice that is somewhere close to here; however, it doesn’t have to be a real restaurant either.  They could make up one e.g. Wine and Vittles located on the East Side.

 

Once you have all the issues identified they will develop their questionnaires, construct their own simulated data e.g. 400 sample responses, analyze the data, form conclusions and further insights, present an oral report to the class, and write up a final report.
