This is a 6-paragraph essay which begins with a summary, then transitions into the response portion of the essay. This is your final project and will include a presentation.
The Summary: demonstrates your understanding of a reading's main ideas.
The Summary is your opening paragraph. It is objective. It reports only what you have read. It does NOT include your opinions or interpretations. It never includes the personal pronouns "I" or "Me".
The sole source of the Summary paragraph is your Week magazine article.
The Response: develop your opinion on the reading and form an argument. Do you agree or disagree with the story? You can use the personal pronouns "I" or "Me". It contains your opinions about the material in your Summary.
Each paragraph of your Response must include at least one quote and at least one example of paraphrasing. Use 3 sources outside of your Week magazine article.
