As Head of the Reference Department, I am happy to work with students who have questions about their research. Contact Prof. Tish Brennan at email@example.com or 456-2810.
Your RIC ID is your library card throughout the HELIN system, once you have registered it at Adams Library. Ask at the Circulation Desk, and they activate the barcode on your ID in the library system. (If you do not have a RIC ID, get one at the Campus Card Office in the Student Union.) Once registered at the Library, you can use the card for:
HELIN Loan and In-Rhode Loan requests (average turn-around time is 2 to 4 working days)
Access to digital library resources from off campus
HELIN Library Consortium
The HELIN Library Consortium is composed of eleven academic libraries and twelve health sciences libraries. The academic libraries are represented by Brown University, Bryant University, the Community College of Rhode Island, the Dominican House of Studies, Johnson & Wales University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, University of Rhode Island, and Wheaton College.
Use the HELIN Catalog to find books, documents, DVDs, and other materials in the library. All the HELIN libraries except Brown share this online catalog, so you will see holdings for other HELIN libraries unless you limit your search in the shared catalog to only RIC. The InRhode catalog allows you to search both Brown and the HELIN catalog. Your RIC ID card will allow you to borrow books from all these institutions either electronically through HELIN request or in person.
Photocopying and computer printing in the Library costs 5 cents per page. The Circulation Department can break large bills or turn coins into bills. Your RIC ID card is your copy and printing card. All photocopiers and the library printing system require either your RIC ID or a purchased copy card for payment.
