Ask a Librarian

Ask a Librarian

You can ask a librarian questions in a number of different ways. Don't ever be afraid to ask a question; that is what we are here for. You can:

  • Stop at the Reference Desk on the 3rd floor (main floor) of the library.  We always like to see you in Reference and Research Support!
  • Call us at 401-456-8125.
  • The Research Help page gives you other options too, e.g. text, chat

Ask this Librarian

No research guide can answer all questions that may arise during a project or paper preparation. I am happy to work one on one or in small groups with history students who would like research support of any kind.  Contact Prof. Tish Brennan at pbrennan@ric.edu or 456-2810.  You can also choose me from the list of Reference Librarians available for appointments on the Research Help page.

HELIN Library Consortium

The HELIN Library Consortium is composed of seven academic libraries: including Community College of Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, Salve Regina University, and Wheaton College.

Your RIC ID card will allow you to borrow books from all these institutions either electronically through InterLibrary Loan or in person.

Printing, Copying

Printing from library computers now uses your allotment of 250 free pages/semester. The Whipple computer lab will also allow you to tap into a 250 page per semester free printing allotment.

Photocopying costs 5 cents per page. The Borrowing Services desk has copy cards that can be purchased.  Value for this purpose can also be added at the ID office in the Student Union, across from the Bookstore.  Scanning at the Photocopier is free.
