About the Exhibit

Dimensions of Art and Identity: The Life and Work of Nancy Elizabeth Prophet is a new exhibit curated by Melissa Moniz (Class of 2023) under the direction of Assistant Professor Veronica Denison (Digital Archivist and Special Collections Librarian). The exhibit includes artworks, photographs, and self-portraits from the collection of Nancy Elizabeth Prophet, a Rhode Island-born sculptor of Narragansett, Pequot, and African descent, who graduated from RISD in 1918. The exhibit's curator, Melissa Moniz, is pursuing a degree in English with a minor in Professional Writing. Stop by the exhibit cases on Level 3 of the Adams Library to read Moniz's carefully researched and composed exhibit labels and to view this incredible collection of Prophet's artwork. The exhibit will be on view from today through the end of April.
