Effective March 30, 2020, the library building will be moving to a closed-stacks model to comply with Executive Order 20-09 of the State of Rhode Island related to public gatherings of 10 or more people and to ensure that the Rhode Island College Library can continue to offer critical service. The building will not be accessible to the public.
RIC students, faculty, and staff may request items, such as books and laptops, and scanning of non-circulating materials in advance via our online request form.
Items can be picked up in the main library lobby. When you arrive, call 401-456-8126 and the items will be brought out to you. Please have your RIC ID ready. Items can be picked up or returned during library hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30.
To renew items by phone and for Interlibrary Loan and Course Reserve questions, please contact the Access Services department at 401-456-8126 (have your RIC ID barcode ready).
The library is continuing to provide ILL borrowing services for all RIC students, faculty & staff who need materials for their research/studies. We do want to make our patrons aware, however, that there may be delays in obtaining materials. Many libraries are not currently providing physical items or scanning of print materials since they are closed due to the COVID-19 virus and quarantines. Many libraries are working remotely and are only able to provide articles from their electronic databases. We will attempt to fill as many requests as possible but please be patient. Please direct any questions to our email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
