Carissa is the Director of the James P. Adams Library. After recently serving as the Director of Library Services for the past 8 years at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, where she strived to ensure students had access to services and resources to achieve academic success and a comfortable and welcoming library environment for all, Carissa is looking forward to serving the RIC Community and moving back to southern New England. Carissa earned her B.S. in Biology from Loyola College Maryland and continued her education at Southern Connecticut State University earning a Master of Library Science. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from UConn. When Carissa is not working, she can be found spending time with her dog, Nala, working out at the gym or wandering through museums. She has a passion for traveling and enjoys learning about different cultures. She considers herself a good cook and takes pleasure in baking and trying new recipes. Carissa likes attending baseball games and cheering on her favorite team.
